Dress Rehearsals & Shows

Starting Monday May 1

1. MAKE-UP for ALL:

All students should arrive with the following make up applied to their face starting Monday May 1

Not feeling it? Is your student nervous or uncomfortable?  Send their products and applicators in a labelled bag and leave in their costume bag.  Your student will have make up applied by team

  1. foundation
  2. rose / neutral blush
  3. some eye liner under bottom lid (girls - a little on top lid, if possible)
  4. mascara
  5. Neutral lipstick (rose, natural colour; not red)

Upon arrival, your student will be directed to putting on their costumes or seeing Hair & Make Up team for additional touch ups before their Call Time.  Not all students will have specific make up for their role; our team will create those that are needed.

2. GIRLS HAIR (& girls dressed as boys)

Students should arrive with the following hair styled at home

Not feeling it?  Need help? please see volunteers in Hair & Make Up upon arrival.

Newsies: put long hair into a double braid (one braid on each side of head) and braid to ends. Use clear or same-coloured hair elastics. Spray hairspray liberally and use pins if necessary so all hair is off face.  Not comfortable braiding.? Come ready for volunteers to help.

Katherine, arrive with hair curled into big rolls

Bowery Brigade & other female characters, arrive with .your hair straightened (& low bun if you're able)

3. BOYS HAIR

Students should arrive with the following hair styled at home starting April 14.  Not feeling it?  please see volunteers in Hair & Make Up upon arrival.

Ensemble Roles: Hair should not be hanging down or on the face. Use gel / product to keep hair combed away from face. If necessary use secure pins to ensure hair is off face. Hairspray.

4. CLOTHING & SHOES, April 24

Students should bring labelled black shoes & undergarments on April 24 (fitted crop or tank top - no undershirts, if they wish). These items will become part of their costume and will remain inside their costume box until Closing Show (May 13).  As a theatre company, we have systems to ensure clothing and costume pieces are "fresh as possible" and ask that NO items be taken home for washing April 24-May 13.

K2K has an exchange box for black shoes.  You are welcome to check this out on Monday March 27 during program and borrow whatever you find.

Black shoes.  Any black shoes with NO colour on sides or treads.  Jazz shoes or slip-ons with a backing work as well.  If your prefer to purchase something that works well for all shows and future K2K years, here are some links to consider.
